With regards to the runway pieces, I’m not too overly excited as there is little leathers and it’s mostly a rehash of older silhouettes. On the other hand though: the boots. THE BOOOOOTS!!! I know the black version is available in stores now but these new colours are simply divine.

I don’t care if they aren’t leather, the fabrics were equally as luxurious. I definitely love Rick’s progression.

I fell in love with RO because of his creative use of leather, my favourite material, as well as his aggression projected in almost alien silhouettes (AW08, AW09, AW10, SS’11). Also another reason is because he scarcely did ‘sportswear’. The fact that you pointed out he’s veering towards just that makes me adore the collection even less. Don’t get me wrong, I will still pick out a few pieces here and there which I might like, but I’m not getting the strong excitement I usually reserve for his collection.
And the fin-like sleeves? It seems more like an after thought, only appearing in a few looks at the ending. The rest were simply cape-like wool/cotton jackets similar to Junya’s AW’11 (which I went ape for because they were leather). If he had several variations of it then perhaps the collection would be all about that new sleeve.
