Brighton happens to be one of the best places for vintage shopping, though it borders on the pricey side. Then again I got hold of this leather jacket for just twenty quid so I’m not going to complain.
I won’t blame you if it looks familiar (despite not being in the biker circle) because Mme Philo interpreted the jacket for Celine.
And speaking of Celine, after months and months of lusting and researching, I am finally a proud owner of the Luggage, and I have a nagging suspicion that this might be the start of an addiction after seeing all the other Celine bags in person.

So here’s an objective review of the bag. The Luggage is made in luxurious calfskin and lambskin, even right down to the interior, which many designer bags seem to lack these days. Needless to say the bag is of a substantial weight. It’s extremely roomy, equipped with compartments for your phone and small junks, but I wouldn’t advise using it as a diaper bag, nor with brats around because you’ll only have one free hand all the time. Material and construction-wise, the bag is worth every penny. In terms of practicality, if you value that the most, then stick to your Neverfull. Then again, who cares about practicality when I’m unmarried and kids-free?

the middle of the bag is suede. I believe the only one with the canvas middle is the tri-coloured one.

by Rosenrot on September 11, 2010 at 9:51 pmHi Jules, Celine restricted online sales so it’s very difficult to get their previous season’s items on the web. Bluefly had some of them months ago but they are sold out now, perhaps they might restock them again.
Best thing you can do is to call any store in Europe (I have the SAs listed in my other Celine post) and have it shipped over. The staff is extremely friendly and they would gladly help you out.

Do you know if they will stop making them with the “wavy” sides and zip—I love that look and don’t really fancy the new ones with the buckle and front pocket
I’m only 5’2 and pretty skinny but love the big bag look but wasn’t sure if the medium size would dwarf me. I’m looking at the mini or small.
Love the bi-color on yours—its been a nightmare to find in the US–I wonder if European prices are similar though–with the exchange rate and all!

I’m about 5’5 in height. I’d recommend the small size for your frame if you want the big bag look. Price wise they are quite standardised in Europe and US, but if the US dollar is stronger then it’ll be cheaper to get the bag from Europe. The only thing you’d need to worry about is tax and custom duties.
I feel the same way about the new Luggages too. They look flat without the wavy sides. I don’t know whether they will bring it back in the future though, I can only hope they do.

Haven’t tried European stores yet but tried calling a couple of places in HK but they can’t ship abroad! Have you had a similar experience? I saw from another entry that you’ve had luck with some places in Melbourne—any contacts there that you can share?
I’ve called dozens of places in the US and no one has the perfect combination—I’m looking for mini and either two tone leather or two colors (like yours). If you have any leads….would love to hear them :) This is one of the hardest bag search I’ve had in a looong time

As for Melbourne, there is no store that I’m aware of that has that colour, although I’ve found the rust red and the beige in mini. Good luck!

Selfridges didn’t work out with shipping for some reason but tracked down a mini two color (brown w/beige—I think you might have featured it in one of your entries) at Harrods!!! Super excited and can’t wait to see it!!! It feels like a lot of trouble for a past season bag but I just can’t seem to love the new designs for the fall/winter. Let’s hope they go back to the original design and come out with cool color combos for the spring! My bank account won’t be looking forward to that haha! Many many thanks again!
