Good piece of reading

I hardly read magazines these days because I tend to dislike reading the lengthy articles. Don’t get me wrong, I do love to read thick novels and such, but when it comes to fashion, I’m a pictorial person. I’d rather admire and gape at the glossy pictures then squint at the tiny type. It doesn’t help that the mags these days are featuring similar stuff straight out of the runway or are just too generic (plus knowing that I couldn’t afford the clothes are kinda off-putting as well).

Then I found an online magazine just yesterday. It’s called Fashion156.

I’m very much fascinated by the fact that I’m finding more avant-garde, independent designers from just one editorial alone than one whole edition of Vogue, Purple, or Russh, especially in the footwear department. Although I’m not liking all the pieces I see, they are nevertheless very interesting.

Headpiece, dress and shoes from Tour de Force’s S/S 2010 collection.

As soon as I laid eyes on the shoes, I know I had to find out who Tour de Force is. At this moment they are only churning out loud, whimsical headwear pieces, but I’m looking forward to see their footwear collection for the upcoming season.
