I can never stay away from shoes no matter how hard I try to stop myself. I’m such a shoe addict that looking at shoes makes me happy, and finding a good pair of shoes can brighten up a bad day for me. Right now I’m absolutely crazy for these shoes, especially the Miu Miu pair at the top of my list.Miu Miu Fall/Winter 08.09
I know I’m about two seasons late but I have never seen this one go on sale in any online stores. The closest it came to was something very similar but with a slimmer heel, which somehow didn’t work very well for me. I prefer the chunkier, rounder heel somehow. I’m guessing this pair was a sample and it was not produced for the mass, nevertheless it’s not stopping me from finding them (call it fate :D), and although the only available pair on sale is one size too big, I’m already imagining myself wearing them. They’d look amazing with maroon or grey tights. YUM
Jil Sander Spring/Summer 09
Raf Simmons is a genius when it comes to geometrical design. Although I was never the biggest fan of this brand, I fell hard for the curves of this d’orsay. It has an elegant almond toe and architectural heel.
This shoe doesn’t scream like the Tribute, instead it commands a strong, quiet presence that calls for your attention in the most graceful manner, while at the same time letting you know that you musn’t mess around with the woman wearing it.
Here’s another Jil Sander pair from the same season that I can’t stop ogling at. It retains the same toe and heel shape, but with a thick ankle strap added to it.
Elegance comes with a price tag, and it says $800. I need that part time job now.
Azzedine Alaia
Monsieur Alaia does not follow the fashion trends, oh no he doesn’t, yet he has a large cult following. Being a master coutourier who knows the lady’s curves, Alaia never fails to go off the radar. When it comes to shoes, he’s always experimenting and having fun, what with all the jingly bells, loud animal prints and avant garde shapes, yet at the same time maintaining the feminine details.
Now try as I might, I have no idea which year this shoe was released. I’m still looking for this pair in my size. I had a chance to get them on Ebay but I wasn’t able to outbid another person in time :(
Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony
For months fashionistas around the world had been waiting for this pair of boots to be released. It was so high in demand that Opening Ceremony had to hold a pre-sale, and these boots were sold within weeks despite costing a whooping $625.
Personally I’m a huge huge huge fan of them. I freaking love the western buckles and the fact that they are so fierce (I’m a sucker for anything that looks like they can kick anyone’s behind). But the price tag is such a huge turn off that I might have to turn to the Jeffrey Campbell replica instead. For those of you who managed to snag them, I say lucky you!
