I’ve always thought that my first Chloe purchase would be the Sally, but Darla came along like a sneaky little kitten

Net-a-Porter

If the red one comes in large it has my name on it.

On a completely different note, Givenchy has released a new ‘It’ bag, the Antigona. I am loving the red one (too).

Got me a Celine (like, finally…)

Brighton happens to be one of the best places for vintage shopping, though it borders on the pricey side. Then again I got hold of this leather jacket for just twenty quid so I’m not going to complain.

I won’t blame you if it looks familiar (despite not being in the biker circle) because Mme Philo interpreted the jacket for Celine.

And speaking of Celine, after months and months of lusting and researching, I am finally a proud owner of the Luggage, and I have a nagging suspicion that this might be the start of an addiction after seeing all the other Celine bags in person.

So here’s an objective review of the bag. The Luggage is made in luxurious calfskin and lambskin, even right down to the interior, which many designer bags seem to lack these days. Needless to say the bag is of a substantial weight. It’s extremely roomy, equipped with compartments for your phone and small junks, but I wouldn’t advise using it as a diaper bag, nor with brats around because you’ll only have one free hand all the time. Material and construction-wise, the bag is worth every penny. In terms of practicality, if you value that the most, then stick to your Neverfull. Then again, who cares about practicality when I’m unmarried and kids-free?

Beautiful Guipure Lace

July 7, 2010

by Gracia Ventus

Two years ago while working as a stylist I borrowed a dress from Prada’s F/W 08 collection, which IMHO was one of the best, if not the best, collection ever created by the Italian house. But of course good things comes with exorbitant prices, so I couldn’t afford any runway piece even with a reasonable income. And two years later I finally managed to lay my hands on one of them and those years of waiting weren’t futile.

Here’s a shot of my favourite owl ring.

Enjoying the evening sun after a hard day of window shopping, and thinking of which Celine bag to buy. That was after the third time I was at Harrods and Selfridges just to look through the different sizes and colourways. Buying an investment bag is such a tough job. Whew.

Gothic Platforms

July 3, 2010

by Gracia Ventus

As promised here are some pictures of my new boots. I ordered them through a Goth e-store called Pennangalan and they were supposedly handmade in UK. They may have been my cheapest shoe purchase recently but to me they can outdo a Balmain anytime. I fell in love with them the as soon as I saw the shiny metal buckles. Be warned though, they take about 2-3 months to be delivered, and they can get uncomfortable after about 4 hours of walking. But the stares these boots garnered are worth most of the pain.

By the way do you see the elephant ring? I bought it through an Etsy store here. The lady who made it is an extremely wonderful person, so do give the store a looksee.

Balenciaga Fall/Winter Block Heels

June 30, 2010

by Gracia Ventus

So I was strolling through Selfridges and found myself gravitating to Balenciaga’s counter. I requested for the fall/winter runway shoes, never expecting a positive reply from the sales assistant. Lo and behold, she gave me a secret wink and a nod that says, ‘I’m not supposed to do this, but I’m not going to let silly admin red tapes stop me from showing them to you!’ (ok that was entirely cooked up but she wasn’t supposed to show me the shoes, really).

Anyway while waiting for her I wasn’t entirely sure whether she knows which collection I was referring to, thinking she might bring me the non-runway versions or something but when she opened up the box, by george they were the most amazing things I’ve ever laid eyes on in person AND not just on the internet.

I let out a muffled scream of glee.

Boy oh boy they were like pieces of lego art that would win any Lego nerd’s approval. I couldn’t stop gushing over them while I paraded around the green carpet. Price of these babies: £1750. I would have considered buying them despite the hefty price tag (yes they were THAT awesome). Unfortunately they were the most uncomfortable shoes I’ve ever tried on. I’m no stranger to crazy shoes (some of you know me for that), but Nicholas Ghesquiere didn’t bother to take into account that wood is NOT PLIABLE AND SOFT. The white back piece cuts into my heels which made every single step I took rather a torture. And those wooden front pieces, let’s not go into that. However the shoes would serve well as a museum piece in your closet, to be taken out before you head to bed while you fantasize about walking around Mayfair in them.

Oh and they’re available in size 39 and 41, will fit 38 and 40 as well.
